Due to its location, the cuisine of Armação dos Búzios is based on the consumption of seafood and grilled meats. One of the most representative dishes is "feijoada", an exquisite mixture of black beans in a thick broth with salted and smoked meat, usually accompanied with a mixture of vegetables, including cabbage, garlic, oil, farofa (cassava flour fried in butter), and some thin orange slices. About Armação dos Búzios, Brazil

Armação dos Búzios is a beach destination located 175 kilometers (105 mi) from the capital of the state of Rio de Janeiro. This area is a former fishing village which used to be full of French pirates who trafficked with slaves during the 17th century.

Búzios became popular in the early 1960s due to the highly publicized holidays of the French star Brigitte Bardot. Some years later, as a tribute to her, a statue was placed on Rua das Pedras, a pedestrian street which is the symbol of the city and where most of the shops and restaurants are located.

Nightlife in Armação dos Búzios is also a point of reference, with numerous bars set a few steps from the beach, art galleries, and nightclubs which stay open until dawn.

Búzios is a small peninsula that offers more than 20 beaches to choose from and that is considered one of the best places in the world for windsurfing. Azeda Beach has very calm and crystalline waters, as Ferradura and Ossos Beach, ideal for families. Geriba Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Búzios and there are even special beaches for nudists, as Olho-de-Boi beach.
