Kissimmee is a city in Florida located 29 kilometers (17 mi) south of Orlando and 18 kilometers (11 mi) from the Walt Disney World Resort. Kissimmee experienced growth in 1971 due to the construction of the first Walt Disney World® park in the surroundings. The number of hotels and restaurants in the city has grown to welcome travelers every year.
There is a monument called the Monument of States in downtown Kissimmee, erected in order to depict the unity of Americans during World War II.
