About La Vigueta, Mexico
La Vigueta is a small town in front of the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, in the municipality of Tecolutla, in the Mexican state of Veracruz. This community is part of a coastal strip known as Costa Esmeralda, with soft sands, intense green waters, and a light and peaceful swell, which make it one of the most important tourist destinations in the region.
The beach is the main attraction of La Vigueta, where you can swim, practice water sports such as snorkeling, kayaking, water skiing, fishing, and sailing; lie down on the sand to sunbathe; or just rest on a hammock and feel the sea breeze. La Vigueta is a perfect destination to relax and has a variety of hotels for all budgets and tastes; an example of this is La Roca, an adult-only hotel that you can enjoy with your partner.
You will find several attractions in the vicinity of La Vigueta, such as the colorful towns of Nautla and San Rafael, where the French-style buildings recall the presence of French immigrants; or the Magical Town of Papantla, famous for the Dance of the Flyers. Live a different adventure on the Filobobos River, that attracts many visitors with its rapids and waterfalls; visit Cienega del Fuerte State Park and admire nature; take a boat ride through the mangroves, and see the marine turtle species protected at Vida Milenaria Turtle Camp. In addition, the archaeological site of El Tajin is 63 kilometers (39.1 mi) away. This archaeological site was the capital of the Totonac empire, and is now home to an important cultural festival.
