Overview

About Pinamar, Argentina

Pinamar was founded in 1944 and designed by architect Jorge Bunge, who discovered the way to stabilize the mobile dunes by planting pine trees, acacias, and pampas grass. It was the refuge of the highest levels of the country, being now much more accessible for a quieter public, away from those seeking the thrill of Punta del Este.

Due to its characteristics, Pinamar is one of the preferred summer destinations. It is home to dozens of beach clubs established along the dunes and its beaches are ideal for water sports. Both surfing and ski surfing can be practiced all year. For surfing masters, the winter surfing season is a real challenge. There are areas which are ideal for sport fishing. You can also rent an ATV to go north and face the dunes.

In addition to the activities carried out on the beach, there are outdoor areas and squares where families can enjoy all kinds of recreational activities and entertainment. Some squares with activities are Plaza Independencia and Plaza Las Acacias. Pinamar also has numerous shopping places with the most varied and prestigious brands. You can also buy a variety of souvenirs and local handicrafts in craft fairs such as Feria Shaw and Feria del Bosque.
