Villa General Belgrano was founded in 1932, when two German immigrants bought a plot of land to start a German colony. German is still spoken, specially by the older inhabitants, and the architecture along the main street Avenida Julio Roca, is dominated by Swiss chalet-style buildings and German beer houses.
